Abruzzo is a mountainous region characterized by a series of enormous calcareous peaks and important promontories like the Italian Gran Sasso with its large horn and glacier.

Such geomorphologic conformations make it one of the most untamed and interesting regions of Italy. Since 1920 the National Park of Abruzzo has included this area to protect and safeguard the flora and fauna of this incredible land.
